the hotel is dated with the non-smoking rooms smelling of stale smoke. The bathrooms are small and the carpeting was dirty. The hotel charges an extra $20.00 per person over 2 people per room even though there were 2 beds which could sleep 4. Though the front desk attempted to accomodate myself, by changing rooms due to the fact I have asthma and the smell of smoke in the non-smoking room had aggrevated an attack, the second room still smelled of smoke. Overall, I will probably not stay at the hotel again.

This was the nicest Quality Inn I've ever seen. The room was large and clean, beds comfortable, fall color was great. Nothing but good memories, and I'd stay again when I come back to the mountains. We had dinner at a Mexican restaurant in a strip mall on a parallel street behind a large bank. Clayton is very quiet, but a trip downtown is also worthwhile. Next time hoping to go see Tiger Lake. Also close to Dillard and a sidetrip to Highlands, NC.

We stayed here for two nights while on a whitewater rafting trip on the Chatooga River. It was or typical motel with rooms on the outside, but the rooms were in pretty good shape and furnished adaquately for this type of motel. I would recommend it for a night or two while travelling. It was convenient to everything.
