It was better than I expected. All the reviews I read were excellent but, I wasn’t expecting them to exceed my expectations. The pictures of the rooms on their website don’t do them justice. I expected my room to be nice but, plain. The only way I can describe it is that it is peaceful and charming. It is different than a typical hotel room. There is ceramic tile throughout the room except for the sleeping area. In one part of the room the ceiling is a cathedral ceiling. The bathroom is entirely in ceramic including the walls. The room has a granite counter top with a small sink, small refrigerator, microwave plates, silverware, and anything you might need. The landscaping is beautiful with the mature landscaping. The hotel is right next to the road on a small piece of land according to U.S. standards but, it feels so secluded. The property actually feels like a resort out in the middle of nowhere. The staff will go out of their way to accommodate you. They are the warmest people I have ever met. They didn’t even seem pretentious. Even by U.S. standards their rates are an excellent value. I would rather stay here then a Ritz Carlton in the U.S. They don’t have bellmen or turn down service but, it doesn’t even matter because the place is so pleasant. There might be other places in Bermuda that are just as nice or maybe even nicer however, I would not think about staying anywhere else if I come again.

My first trip to Bermuda was one to remember. Our stay at the Royal Palms Hotel exceeded our expectations and imagination. The staff was warm, caring, kind, and extremely helpful in so many ways. They greeted us each morning as we arrived for the best breakfast buffet in Bermuda. They took time to get to know us, recommeded sites to see, scheduled tours, taxis, and dinner reservations. Our room, suite with kitchenette, was so elegent yet comfortable. Most important to mention, the complimentary breakfast, was simply the BEST. Our selection of baked goods, breads, muffins, bagels, waffels, eggs, fresh fruit, cereals, milk, juice, coffee, tea, jams/jellies, and more were there perfect greeting each morning. There is no doubt that I will return to the lovely island of Bermuda soon and I WILL stay at the wonderful Royal Palms Hotel, my home away from home.

  • Boutique Business Hotel or Weekend Getaway

I stayed 4 days while on business but this is a perfect weekend getaway from the US east coast. The hotel is a ten minute walk from the city centre but is itself located in a garden setting off the beaten track. This is not a resort; it is instead a small boutique hotel on the edge of Hamilton so it is close to restaurants etc. Nowhere is very far from anywhere in Bermuda so golf and beaches are easily accessible and the hotel arranged golf for me at Tucker's Point, I never got to the beach. My room was a deluxe mini-suite and it was large and nicely decorated, it had a flat screen tv, ipod player and a good Internet connection.
There was a good continental breakfast included in the rate but no hot 'English Breakfast', the restaurant was very good and priced accordingly. The foregoing is all very well but the reason I am writing this review is because the staff seemed genuinely interested in my wellbeing and that my needs were met; as a business traveller I don't often get that sense nor do I often stay at a business hotel that has a real homely atmosphere where I feel comfortable and recognised.

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay early December. Although the hotel does not have the amenities of larger resorts our bedroom was nicer than most we have ever stayed in, being beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is served on a 'summer' patio and their Ascot restaurant was expensive but very good. We would highly recommend this charming little hotel.

We just got back from the Royal Palms and couldn't of been happier with our choice of hotel. The Royal Palms is a quick 10 minute walk outside of downtown Hamilton, but it feels more like a private hideaway. Our room was lovely with a king size bed, flat screen tv, kitchenette and a window seat overlooking the pool. Continental breakfast is served each morning in a lovely open-air room. We almost didn't have dinner at Ascot's, the restaurant on the hotel property, and what a shame that would of been. Their food is hands down some of the best on the island!
