This hotel was horrible. My first room had no refrigerator, no microwave and was beyond the range of the wireless internet. My second room had all that, but was next to a stairwell and, with the paper thin walls and floors, was constantly rocked by noise. The next week, my room was again without a microwave, the refrigerator was present, made occassional strange noises, and didn't actually cool anything. In that room, the remote didn't work and two of the four lamps did not work. I had two calls and a visit from the front desk telling me that I needed to quiet down, even though I was actually in bed each of those times with the tv off. Evidently the guests in the room underneath me couldn't localize the noise from the stairwell and assumed it was coming from my room. The staff was... interesting. This hotel is headed for closure if it doesn't right its course soon. Sp[end a few more bucks per night and stay somewhere else.

I stayed October 8, 2008. The outside of the hotel is clean and the grounds look great. The lobby is large, clean and well furnished. The staff was friendly. My room was very large and clean. I had a king room with recliner, large desk, refrigerator and coffee maker. The hotel has free wireless internet. Macado' s Restaurant is next door. It is an upscale sandwich shop. They do offer food to go. Their salads are great.

I checked the reviews before booking here and three of four said it was a good experience, but I won't be staying there again. This didn't meet my expectations. First, when I checked in, they put me in a room that I didn't book (i.e. I got a king in smoking instead of 2 queens in a non-smoking). I called the front desk and they were friendly and put me in a non-smoking room (the kind I booked) simply stating that the smoking was what I booked. I checked my reservation & they got it wrong. The website advertised free wireless internet (the deal breaker for me) and I planned to get some work done in my room. But I couldn't get a signal ANYWHERE in the hotel. The only place I could get online was at the computer in the lobby, which had a very weak wireless signal. I ended up going across the street to the Thomas Road Baptist Church to use the free wireless there. And although the staff was very friendly and didn't seem bothered by my many complaints/calls, my second day I came back to my room and every guests' room key had been deactivated. I went down to the front desk and the girl there said, ""Oh yeah, that happens at 11 o'clock."" Okay...I wasn't checking out for another day! Other issues would be that the sheets smelled dirty & the bathroom could use a coat of fresh paint. The location was very good and there is shopping and dining within walking distance. So if you don't expect much give it a try. If you expect anything, prepare to be disappointed.

Generally staff were very friendly, however, one night clerk double booked our room...I know it happens...but then actually gave this other party a key to our room at 1:45 am. We woke up to someone trying to get into our room - very loudly. Then the phone rang. It was the front desk clerk asking if I were in the room. She said the room had been booked by another party, and she was checking to see if we were in the room. By this time we were all wide awake and not believing what was happening. It was awful. The next morning, I asked the clerk what happened, and her only statement was that they had prepaid for the room. Well, we had too. I didn't understand. I would have thought they would have tried to make things right for scaring us half to death, and waking us up in the middle of the night. Perhaps if the Manager had known, things would have been different.

Checked in and found room needed additional cleaning. Staff addressed the concern and moved us to another room. This is basically a no-frills motel, but I'd highly recommend it. Quiet location despite proximity to major highways (Rts 460, 29, and 501). Family liked the mall nearby. Good cable selection and free internet. A couple of good resturants within walking distance. Cleaned the room daily with fresh towels. Didn't change sheets, but I don't do that at home either.
They allow pets with no weight limits ($*/night), so the next time I'll take our dog (190 lbs)with us. Plenty of 'green space' for walks.
I will stay there again.
