We are a family of 2 adults and 2 (now 3) small-medium dogs. We have family in Jacksonville and ESA has always been our choice. The hotel is reasonably clean, staffed, and well appointed. During previous visits, the staff has gone far beyond expectation to help and accomodate our needs. Even though the linens only get changed once a week, they've never complained about exchanging them if I bring them to the front desk. However, the last 2 stays there we discovered that their pet policy is $*/pet/day, capped at $*/pet. For a 3 day stay, I paid $*/night for people and an additional $*/night for pets. As we just added a new pet to the family, the cost now escalates to $*/day. YIKES! All 3 of our dogs weigh under 10 # so (I think) "wear" on the room is minimally impacted by the additional pets (however, we have seen some 80# + dogs which would impact the "wear"). When I tried to discuss this penalizing policy, I received off the cuff, smart-alec replies from the desk clerk. We'd requested a no smoking room due to allergies. The room we received reeked of smoke. When I returned to the desk to exchange the room, the clerk laughed at me. When I asked what was so funny, I was told that the room was a no smoking room. I guess he's naive enough to believe that being in a no smoking room actually stops a smoker. The "high speed" internet connection was unreliable - difficult to gain a connection and often dropped after connecting. Waste of $*. Between the shabby treatment from the clerk, and the exhorbitant rate of $*/night for 2 humans and 3 pets, ESA has seen the last of my money.

We traveled 18 hours to see my brother off to Iraq.I reserved a non-smoking room only to find when we got there it was a smoking room. I called the front desk and the lady said when you book online, you get what you get.The room stunk so bad, I had a headache the whole time. We went to air out the room, but one of the windows didn't have a screen and wouldn't open. The bathroom didn't have a fan so everytime we took a shower it got so hot it was like sitting in a sauna. There was also hair in the tub and sink. I don't recommend this hotel at all and I will never stay there again.

With my husband being stationed at Camp LeJeune and me living in Maryland, weekends are all we have. We have stayed in many places around base, and this way by far the best. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and accomodating, and the beds were comfy. The only thing I personally didn't like was that the pillows were thin and only two. I'll just need to bring mine from home next time. Not a big deal. "
