This is the most expensive hotel in Wadi Mousa (the village athe the entry to Petra). It is well positioned, but that is the extent of what is good about it. My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights in mid Jan 2009. We paid a lot for a standard room. The A/C didn't work; there was a blood stain on the sheets upon arrival; and the shower didn't work. We told them of these problems on arrival and the extent of their response was to change the sheets. They didn't do anything about the shower or the air conditioning, nor did they offer to relocate us. The staff were unfreindly and unhelpful. They only showed even a suggestion of interest when they were waiting for a tip. There are numerous other hotels in the village that are less tha half the price of this one and in almost as good a position. We have travelled a fair bit and this is the single most disappointing hotel we have ever stayed in.

After a hard day of hiking through the tombs of Petra, this hotel was a wonderful respite. While I didn't feel like I was having an 'authentic' Jordanian experience, I was impressed with the spotless hotel and the customer service. While the dinner and breakfast buffets were more than ample, the food was not quite as good as it had been talked up to be, but that is really a minor detail compared with how luxurious and beautiful the rest of the hotel is -- especially at such an unbeatable price.
