This hotel leaves a lot to be desired. There were three in our party, and we got charged an extra $* for our daughter, yet they consistently gave us only 2 sets of towels, even after we contacted the front desk and raised this issue 3 days in a row! They would fix the problem one day, and then it would occur again the next day, and we'd have to start all over again, sometimes with different staff. If a hotel charges for the extra person, then they need to provide adequate towels. The hallways and elevators were dirty, with soiled carpets, stains and smears on walls, and trash/food lying around. Also, even though a continental breakfast was supposedly included in our stay, we found out that breakfast was only provided on weekdays, which meant that we had to go out and buy breakfast over the weekend - an extra expense that we hadn't planned on. Some of the staff members were pleasant, but we overheard a number of them complaining about low morale and dissatisfaction with their jobs, management, dealing with the public, etc. The day that we left, we tried to talk to the manager on duty about the problems that we experienced, but he was very curt and indifferent. Rather than hold a conversation with us, he dismissed us with an I see. Have a nice day. We were terribly disappointed, because this isn't a cheap hotel, and we spent a bit more than we usually do, hoping for a really nice place to stay. In our opinion, this hotel isn't worth the added expense or the aggravation. So we won't be staying here again.

My family stayed at this hotel in June 07 while visiting family. It was in a nice area and hotel ammenities were nice. When I checked in they said I hadn't paid and that my card was denied when in fact the lady checking us in didn't realize she was using the wrong information and it wasn't corrected until later in the evening. The thing that scared me was around 11 pm on our last night the fire alarm went off and when we ran downstairs to the lobby, not one single hotel employee addressed the guests as a whole on where to go or if it was a false alarm. We waited outside for at least 20-30 minutes until most guests decided to go back inside. Again, not a single employee came out to address the guests outside. We did get an apoloy letter from the manager slipped under our door and we found out it was a water main break and we had water in our room. I wrote the hotel and told them I felt they should prepare the employees better in emergency situations but I never heard back from them. We are going back to that area next summer and I don't think I'll be staying there again.

We visited the Holiday Inn, Solomons, MD. for the first time and received a warm welcome and an upgrade upon arrival. We were very pleased with the room and employees with only one exception. We came back from an all day tour to find that housekeeping had left the door open all day. This left me very upset and insecure feeling even though the front desk apologized and offered a free breakfast coupon. Coming from a law enforcement background, we were very disappointed that such a nice facility would fail in such an important area. I had every intention of writing a glowing review for this facility since the location and employees were wonderful, but I cannot avoid this obvious problem that really left us suspicious and uneasy for the entire visit. I will understand if you choose to edit this review to a more positive angle, but I have to be honest.
We will probably return to this location, because our children are in the military nearby and location is every thing. But next time we will be even more cautious and wary.
On a positive note, the continental breakfast was outstanding as was the service. We also ordered off the menu and were well satisfied with both the food and the restaurant. The staff was excellent. -

Stayed at this hotel for Tiki Bar '07, got a double room for Friday night, tried to get another for Saturday night, none was available but they bumped us to a suite & lowered the price a little. Staff was great would stay there every year for Tiki Bar!!"

Stayed at this hotel for Tiki Bar '07, got a double room for Friday night, tried to get another for Saturday night, none was available but they bumped us to a suite & lowered the price a little. Staff was great would stay there every year for Tiki Bar!!
