  This hotel definitely has spirit. College cheer songs were playing outside & inside. UNC memorabilia & souvenirs for purchase in lobby. Room smelled like smoke. Staff happily moved us to a clean, comfortable room. Hotel is old & needs updating. Room service exceeded my expectations. Food was cheap & arrived quickly & hot. Delicious quesadillas & corn chowder! Very nice pool area. Nightly guest activities, such as grilling hot dogs by pool. Received invitation, but didn't see anyone;perhaps they canceled because nobody showed up. Don't pay full price. Great for students,sports-fans, families.

  I had a great stay. the staff was welcoming and my room was clean and comfortable. it was everything i expected from a holiday inn. nice and quiet.

  I recommend this hotel. The front desk person was on the phone when I arrived and I had to wait about 5 minutes for him to hang up before I could check in, but otherwise everything was great. The room is nothing great but it was clean and comfortable.
