Am currently staying at the Capella -- will never stay here again. am here on business, and our spanish speaking secretary called and specifically reserved a room in the new building but of course, they put us in the old building. I have asthma, my room REEKS of cigarette smoke to the point where I cannot sleep (I wake up every few hours to cough the smoke out of my lungs). The stench is in the mattress, the sheets, the pillows the curtains. the paint is old and peeling. The fixtures in the bath are rusty. The door knob is rusty, I have never gotten a washcloth, nor have I ever gotten the basic amenity of SHAMPOO. Thank god I brought my own. The bed is like sleeping on a box spring. the noise from teh disco keeps you up til all hours. The food is the same every day at the buffet and it is a major hassle to get a reservation for one of the other restaurants. Only when I speak Spanish do they do what I ask. We were supposed to be put into the new building, they kept telling me that they were full (which was crap, the place is EMPTY) and 'we'll try to get you moved tomorrow, we will call you" and of course, you know, they never had any intention of moving us and 5 days later, I am still in the worst room in the resort. Never again. Next time I or anyone from my company must come for business, we'll stay elsewhere.

Wow! I had an awesome time. Check in was a little problematic at first..we had alittle problem withour room but it really didn' t bother me after all the fun we had. Oh my god, I ate so much! The food was pretty good with alot of varities. The rooms are beautiful and very clean, the beds are pretty comfortable too, The sun was great and the beach was beautiful especially at sunset. They have many fun activities around the pool and beach areas with great music. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The night shows are amazing! It was the best part! especially the Michael Jackson show! After the shows they have a small night club beside the beach area til 3 am which had good drinks, good crowd and good music.

me and three of my guy friends went there for the weekend and we all had a great time the hotel was great the only downfall was the food wasn't that great. the staff was very friendly and professional i would recommend this hotel to any one overall we had a great trip and the Dominican republic is beautiful.

The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful- all facilities is nearby. The food are excellent with a lot of choice memu- the room service is clean. The only inconvenient is the key of the room who is computerized and is something deactivated to open the doors of the room. While I was there the internet computer access wasn't working properly. The night entertainent shows are excellent. Try some of sightseeing offering at the hotel - Like the Safari, and the other tours they are excellent. Walk three blocks from the hotel in the left side to The exchange money place to buy a cell telephone for $15 and buy a telephone card to get connected to the outside world that the cheapest way to call. Across the street from the hotel you find everything you needed, a pharmacy is only two blocks away from the hotel. The location are excellent and the staff are superb. I went with my family ( a teenager daughter) we all enjoy the scenery and all day activities the hotel offers, dances classes, language course in Spanish, the security staff are excellent - will visit the place again and will recommend them for a best place for vacation and relaxation.

the hotel was very good but if you speak spanish everybody outside and inside the hotel will try to sell you anything (such as dominican rum, shirts, necklaces,etc). if you dont tell the maid to wash the bed sheets they left the same for all your stay. the pool was more or less (have some dirt in it). very good activities in the pool area. the beach was not good at all ( have a beautiful view at dawn but not good for swimming). always verify the A/C in the room and if its not freezing go to the front desk so they verify it. the taxis in the airport are $45.00 more or less but if you call the hotel they will transfer you to a tour person that will get you a taxi for $40.00. the persons that work in the hotel are very friendly. the food is good but if you try the buffet it will be the same everyday ( try all three restaurants including the one near the beach, for me its the best but only with reservation). beautiful hotel architecture all around. and for conclude if you are going to do something do it yourself if you can, because for anything you need help the people in the hotel will ask you for money (and Im not talking about taking the luggage to your room)
