I stayed in building 10 closest to the pool but we rented a car and had to park up top. The shuttle ran every 10 minutes. We only had to wait longer than that once because it was check out time on a sunday morning. View was beautiful. Black sand beach was very nice. It is volcanic sand so it is black food was good for all inclusive. We never went hungry and always found something to eat. Our air conditioner blew a fuse but it never took more than 10 minutes for someone to come fix it and it always got fixed. staff was great. especially the "fun club" people. always something fun to do and they were so energetic. My only complaint was the dive shop. I was not thrilled with them. We are a couple and you needed three people to plan anything. They did not seem to want to accommodate us. We dove with Rich's Dive Shop in coco beach about 20 minutes away. Not a 5 star resort but it is well worth the money. We spent the money on a room safe and never had a problem with anything missing or out of place in our room. we tipped our cleaning lady 1000 colognes 2 bucks a day and she was so thankful and nice. wait staff did not expect tips but were so appreciative when you did tip them. We were on our honeymoon and would recommend this place to anyone wanting a secluded beach resort . I would recommend a rental car with 4 wheel-drive. It was great to get out and explore Costa Rica.

Service was good, food was great, rooms were okay. The resort is quite a ways from town or shopping so rent a car if you want to get out. But watch out, roads are horrible in Costa Rica! Make sure you have a good map & know a little Spanish. Not many locals know English.

Our family of three stayed six days in May 2009. The reception staff were friendly,as were all the other staff. The rooms were clean, and the building areas were well maintained. The resort is built on a hillside, but we didn't have any problems with the walk to the pool or restaurants. There is a shuttle that runs every few minutes, but we rarely used it, The pool area was clean, and the entertainment crew had plenty of activities for daytime and evening. The buffet food was varied every day, and again the wait staff were very friendly and prompt. The beach is a black sand beach, very clean and lots of small shells to pick up.We tried the snorkeling/fishing trip booked through the on site office of Charlie's Adventures and had a great outing. The boat staff were interesting to talk to and helpful. Overall, this destination was better than Mexico or Jamaican resorts we've been to, and hopefully we'll be returning soon.

We checked in the rooms are old and dated we had ants all over our room and the beds were hard as a rock. The food was sub par and there were alot of in room thefts when we were there. It is on the side of a hill and nothing really to do in the area. Most of the wait staff was very friendly the entertainment was good. Hot water was at a minimal limit during the morning and early evening hours.
