We stay here 2-4 times every year on our way down south & back. The staff is very friendly & helpful, the rooms are always clean & neat, and the free breakfast is very good. We travel extensively with our 2 dogs and only stay at pet friendly hotels and resort. Although there is an extra per pet fee..we feel it is well worth the extra cost. Highly reccomended!!!

If it wasn't for this one issue, this is a good hotel. I do not own pets and had never experienced a ""pet-friendly"" hotel in the past. I can tell you that if you don't own a pet, you may want to consider another hotel. Between the stench of dog in the halls and stairwells and the occasional barking through the walls at night, I was ready to go nuts. For this one issue alone, I would not stay here, however, I am sure that doesn't bother some people, so I'll continue. Luckily, my room I was in did not smell like a dog. I was a little annoyed that the carpet wasn't vaccumed each day (as evidence by the jelly bean that sat in the middle of the floor for my entire stay), but it appeared it was vaccumed periodically. The staff seemed friendly, but I did not ask anything of them. The bed was very soft and the quality of the room seemed fine. I did use the pool, which is a small 5' deep pool, but it does the job if you just want to cool off. The pool was not regularly skimmed, so I did that myself. Not a big deal, just an inconvenience. The hotel is located right next to the offramp for I-81, so it is good if you want to remain close to the highway. The hotel offers a complementary contential breakfast, but it is served only until 9:00, while check out is at 11:00. Unfortunately, there is only a Domino's and a McDonald's in the immediate area for food, both appear to have opened recently, but there are more choices a few exits south. My recommendation is to stay here if the dogs and their smell won't bother you.

No frills stopover on the highway. Room was large and clean. Bed was adequate, about what you would expect at this price. Nothing is close, but it was central to Martinsburg, Hagerstown, and Charlestown.

09/28/2006Female clerk was very friendly and eager to make our stay a good one. she also was helpful in giving us directions. the complimentary breakfast was very good.
