First, this is a cool hotel. The floors, fixtures, elevator, etc are real turn of the century and updates have been done that do not change the spirit of the place. The staff are polite and efficient. I highly recommend this for those who want to get that local taste. The rooms are clean and nice looking, with plenty of room. The bathrooms are also clean but the tile is old and the grout is missing in areas but they are nice when the age of the building is accounted for. My first room was on the front corner above two busy streets and was so noisy I asked for a room change to an interior room (they did this quickly and politely). That solved the problem and it is very quiet now. When people walk above you the floor creaks quite audibly in some rooms. There is only street parking so depending on the time of day you may have to walk two city blocks from your car. The beds are not particularly comfortable, on the firm side. The pillows are lumpy. Because I am a business traveler my idea of a good hotel is the Hampton Inn. No one would describe me as adventurous when it comes to food or lodging. If my wife were with me and this was a sightseeing visit I would really enjoy this. Since I am here for 4 nights on business I am not feeling adventurous and just want smooth, unsurprising, comfortable, hotel stays. I would recommend this hotel to friends traveling through, but for uptight engineers traveling for work I would say stick with Holiday Inn Express and the like.

This lovely, old hotel is located across the street from the old depot. The on-site restraunt is 4-stars with great food and good service. There's also a coffee/gift shop off the lobby and another higher end gift shop located on-site. The walls are lined with early 20th century photos of the hotel and Cheyenne. Lots of history here.

The elevator is a bit small, but that's because it was added after the hotel was built. We had a bit of trouble receiving WiFi on the 5th floor, but took our laptop to the lobby & it worked just fine. We'll stay again the next time we're in the area.
