  We are prodigous travelers having been to over 35 countries and stayed in all types of accomodations. "Problems" can always occur but it is not always the difficulty caused by the problem but how management deals with it. In this case, we arrived at this moderately priced motel with a reservation for a non-smoking room for the Fort Smith Blues Festival. The non-smoking specification was clearly written into our reservation. We were told by management that all non-smoking rooms were taken and the only one left and assigned to us was a smoking room. It stunk horribly! At this time I made my case to the manager on duty but was presently surprised that a maid suggested another room to the manager for us ... the manager actually listened and several other maids all began working together to prepare this newly available room for us immediately ... of their own volition! Since I am always impressed when employees can work together to solve such minor problems I must give this hotel a 4 star rating despite the fact that the radio in the room didn't work and a bath tub stopper was not present. Superior personal service will always prevail over the lack of attention to detail that can often be associated with budget hotels. Congratulations to "Margeret" and her staff for demonstrating attitudes that exceeded our expectations.
