The resort was too expensive for the value and more importantly, completely ignored why people would wish to spend their holiday in the Muskoka Lakes. Very poor access to swimming in the lake (tiny dock, poorly maintained -- hazardous). The trails were beautiful but poorly maintained from an ecological perspective. The main restaurant was pretentious and too expensive for a family. The boathouse restaurant was beautiful but needs music or something to enhance the experience. The owners should do some simple research to find out what people want. Other guests I had spoken with shared our opinion. For my family it was all about the lake experience and it looks like management hardly notices that there is a lake. If we wanted a holiday by a pool, we would have gone to Florida.
