Smells, very dust and dirty, not a nice stay!

We stayed at this hotel about three years ago and we thought only the name had changed, after our stay last night - It was clear it's a different hotel with a new cleaning staff. We will never stay there again. The place was very dust, the fake flowers look like they have years of dirt on them(and they are everywhere). It is a smoke free hotel, but it smells like there is an old ashtray hiding somewhere in the room. We tried to tuff it out but a 1:00am had to make a run to the store for some allergy medication and air freshener. Spend the extra money on better hotel, this one is way over rated, and save money on the perfume trying to cover up this pig. The only positive was the front desk lady was nice at check.

This has got to be the worst place on the lodging landscape. We have stayed here on several occasions when it was the Franklind Inn and it was passable,old,out dates but opassable. New owners came and the place went down the toilet in full flush. Now, I have been in the lodging industry for over 11 years and know what I speak off. I called FOUR days before a stay to cancel a second room that I would not need only to be told that 8 days notice had to be given. Was it a very special event taking place--uh no. just a game against the worst team on the west coast. In every hotel, I have managed-48 hours notice was the most and this was let slide many times to get repeat business. I say, I do not hate anyone enough to recommend this hotel. I did not book through an online agency, I booked myself. Online agencies have done well by me.

walking distance to university of Oregon, free EmX bus from Grey hound to the station near the hotel. Actually the downtown is small, there are many hotels near the university but the quality to price ration is good for this hotel. The major uncomfortable thing is sound proof of the room is terrible.

I made reservations for Monday 1-21-08 four days before on 1-17-08 for 1 night. I arrived at 2:30 PM on Monday 1-21-08 and was told at the front desk that I was a day late. The front desk lady was nice and went to the back room to get the owner. The owner came out and told me whoever made my reservations gave them the wrong date and my credit card had already been charged for the night before! I informed her that I was the person that made the reservations and that it was her people that had messed up the reservation. I told her I don't work on Sundays so the mistake had to be on her side. She was looking to see if they had a room for me and I asked if they had parking for my Expedition and trailer ( which was parked in front of her at the front door)after she looked at my rig she said no. I told her I would find another hotel. "She said we have a 48 hour cancellation policy and I would have to pay for the night " I told her
I stay 100 nights per year in hotels and have never had a problem with parking in 20 years.( The hotel parking lot is the size of a 7/11 parking lot.) She said that's their policy. I will contest this Visa charge which I have never done before as I have never been this outraged in 20+ years of traveling -

My husband and I stayed here 1 night and thought it was great. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and nicely decorated, comfy bed, mini fridge and microwave, good shower, nice variety on the continental breakfast. Nice location near campus, restaurants, river walk, drugstore, but still very quiet. A great value for about $65, we would stay here again.
