The hotel was great, the beach extremely nice, rooms super clean with kitchen, meals a little bit expensive, The Bar Staff Extremely slow to prepare your drinks, extremely slow to get your bill and they were not in a very good mood. They also have a small store where you can find snacks, drinks, and other things but, also the lady at the counter was not very nice. Great hotel, Moody staff.

  • We'd recommend it.

We stayed for 5 nights in early November, 2009 in one of the new tower suites. We had a 1 bedroom on the 2nd floor. The bed was very comfortable and it was great to have 2 baths. The balcony was large and had a table and two chairs. The AC worked great . The new pool is beautiful and the beach was very nice. If you like to walk, you can walk down to Eagle Beach or all the way up Palm Beach easily, so we found the location to be convenient. We only had one meal at the resort and that was breakfast on our first morning at Sunset Beach. We didn't order from the bar, so can't comment on that, but it looked nice. The staff we encountered were all pleasant. There were security guards on the premises, but we would have felt safe without them. Negatives -found a dirty cheese grater in a kitchen drawer. It's new construction, so everything is pretty and decorated nicely, but some of the construction isn't top quality. I would only be worried about this if we were owners, but we aren't. (ie the manual shower handle in the jacuzzi tub broke right off and the shower door didn't seal completely, so some water spilled out onto the bathroom floor. I would think the beach could get crowded during peak season, but we were able to find a shaded spot every day despite people 'saving' huts early in the morning. (We saw evidence of this at every hotel though.) There were plenty of open chairs at the pool. Overall it was quiet and pleasant. We were invited to a sales presentation, but not pressured to go. We would definately stay there again. Great value in the off-season.

We were there Oct3rd week. Room was great. Elevator - one is still down. The Sunset Bistro - Service is really slow. Our last time to try and eat,we sat for 20 minutes, no one even looked our way. We left and never tried again. The location of the resort was great for us. Not many people. The new tower area is beautiful. The pools are very pretty. We did not use the pools. Stayed on the beach area. Plenty of huts. Get up early for best ones,by 7:00 a.m. I would go back. Close enough to walk to plenty of restaurants. We did an exchange, so the price for us very good. I always felt safe. Walking during the day or at night. People did not bother us about viewing the timeshare. Over all . I would go back.

Ice machine was big. No problem for us to fill our cooler each day for the beach.
