staff was helpful hotel size small but warm atmosphere few feet to the beach where the view is gorgious, they will clean lightly the room once a day and eveybody was friendly and vey helpful if you wanted infos or asked them to call you a cab.trip was great and looking forward to go back again.Situated along Orient Bay there was quite a few restaurants and bars neighbouring clothing optional resorts.Do not look foe a five stars hotel but the place was clean renovated and no surprises if this is what you re looking for.Foe the price it was real good value and you could save money if you use their kitchenette in the hotel room.definitely will go back.Enjoyed ourselves a lot. We had the bottom level apartment of the complex, and it was great. Some bushes and palm trees blocked our backyard from the sand parking area separating our rooms from the beach and created a nice private outdoor dining area. The kitchenette was good, but equipped with a toaster and microwave which we didn't use, and a pretty crappy electric stove. However, groceries on the island are very expensive as the food is imported from France. The beach was fantastic. Besides the groups of people bused in on a day trip from their cruises, it was a calm caribbean atmosphere. Orient Bay is clothing optional, so tanning topless (or nude) was a nice change from the usual conservative atmosphere of US beaches. We ate at two very expensive but very worth-it French restaurants in the nearby Grand Case, L'Auberge Gourmand and Tastevin. A car is essential to getting to other towns, but the island itself is pretty small with only one main road. The Lolo restaurants, the barbeque native cuisine food, was a good break from the gourmet french food. Don't stay on the Dutch side. There are no annual taxes on property on the Dutch, so there is a lot of construction and investments there. Also, the cruises come in on the Dutch side. However, the French side is very beautiful and less built up. The center of the island is very poor, third world-like, and has quite a different feel than the beaches. This is to be expected in this kind of place. We were warned of theft from the rooms at Cap Caraibes on online reviews of the place, but we were sure to shut our shutters and put our valuables--cell phones, cameras, wallets--in the safe provided in our room. We did not encounter any problems!

This was our 1st time staying on the French side of the island. The hotel was very nice and a great value. The room was a good size with a mini kitchen. The staff was awesome and very accomodating. The front desk made dinner reservations for us and also gave us directions to get to town. When we needed a car she had it delivered to the hotel. I didn't bring my adaptor with me and she had supplied me with one. You were within steps to the beach which was gorgeous with its turquoise water. You only had to walk 5 minutes to a little shopping area that had a market and restaurants. You had your choice from several locations on the beach to pick beach chairs with umbrella's. The only down side was where are room was located because there is only 5 building connected we were on the 2nd floor which really has no water view but we were directly behind one of the beach restaurants and had the air-conditioning unit partially blocked by some trees. Now we know so we would book the hotel and ask for a specific location and room.
