We were disappointed upon arrival - our room was not exactly what had been pictured. We were shown 5 rooms, none like what the site showed. Be sure to know that the tennis courts are NOT on the premises and that we never saw a chef serving guests at an outdoor dinner with decorated tables of fruit. (But Tuesday night there is a huge bbq feast which locals seem to love!) The place itself is exaclty what a travel book said "adequate". It could be the cutest place if it was updated. The room we finally chose was much larger than the first. The views are all pretty nice. The balcony was hardly big enough for two people to stand - let alone sit. The wrought iron rails were rusting and chipping paint. We had to wait 6 minutes for hot water - we timed it. We had little bugs in the room too. When we were ready to leave, it seemed like we were bothering the front desk to get someone to come help us with our luggage. Our room was far from the front with many stairs along the way. We assumed they had a golf cart to help with this. Not so. The beach there is very nice. The ferry was very speedy - the 'capts' were great. One offered us fresh bananas from his garden. The room did not offer any extra travel items except for soap, which never got replaced. We had to ask for more coffee b/c it was never replenished. There was not a hair dryer. We would stay there again - but now we have lowered our expectations. The furnishings really need updated - and the curtains with holes need replaced. Beware - the mourning doves wake you very early!

I've stayed there several times, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
OK, if you're one of those people who only stays in 5-star resorts, stop reading and go to the Buccaneer to waste your money. This is for realistic travelers who don't want to spend $300 a night.
You simply cannot beat the location - a 1-minute Ferry ride from Christiansted Harbor to the hotel, with its own beach, fantastic views, and wonderful service. It's a little older, but the rooms are clean and spacious. If you're a true island person, you'll have no complaints (again, if you're a 5-star resort person, you shouldn't be on small islands like this).
Like I said, the location is great. You don't need a car to hang in Christiansted and see everything there. (You should rent a Jeep one day to see the rest of the island.) The unrealized beauty here is that you have a very private beach at the hotel. There are actually no private beaches in the USVI, but since non-hotel-guests have to pay for the ferry, you don't get too many people crowding this one.
It's reasonably priced, great people, a cool bar... perfect place for travelers 25-40. I've stayed many placed in St. Croix (I now own land there), but this is the only place I'll go back to.

This resort has some great attributes but in need of many repairs. No water in the lagoons and waterfalls. Entry doors are louvered and don't hold the air conditioning in. No meals after 5PM. BUT there are microwaves and small refrig's in every room. Nice little launch to the town runs continuously.

The people in 'St. Kitts smile and are very friendly and helpful however not everyone in hotel had that spirit. Meals there were more expensive but the boat service was very good and for free. Beach very small but view of bay spectacular. Shopping in Sept. very reasonable. Take bus or shared taxi for savings to visit Friedrichstead or shopping. Otherwise hire auto to drive around the island on the left side. Speak English or Spanish and enjoy .Rumrunners is good and plentiful for eating.
