A depressing place to stay; very poorly put together with zero maintenance and zero attention to any details which could lead you to believe they cared about your comfort. In just my one room there were falling down curtains, dirty, unpainted window sills, moldy shower caulk, peeling wallpaper, rusting over-head pipes in the bathroom, cracked switch plates, badly patched walls, & a general lack of basic cleanliness. I agree about breakfast--basically carbs and coffee (though on the 2nd day of our stay they had no caffeinated coffee by 8 a.m.). On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, sheets and towels clean and parking was free.

Based on the previous reviews, I thought this hotel would be much different. But this is an older hotel that is in serious need of an update! PROS: Clean room and clean, functional bath. Relatively courteous staff, although nothing special. Microwave, iron, coffee maker, and wireless internet - good! As of this writing, room was quiet. CONS: Old furniture, old bed, old (and stained) carpet - funky smell in room. As I said, the room is clean, but for this price, I was expecting something much more updated and modern. The stains in the carpet only indicate the age and the smell is just that of an old closet that's housed smelly shoes for years. The breakfast is only coffee and pastries. That *barely* qualifies as ""continental"" in my book. The microwave would be a good touch...if it had a wall outlet to plug into! That's right, the cord is just hanging there with nowhere to plug into. Hmm. The lobby is very tiny, and that is where the breakfast is in the morning. Tiny, dingy elevator. Other than talking specifics about what in the room and hotel needs remodeling, I think I would offer this last thought: Think more upscale Motel 6, rather than Marriot. Clean stay, but not worth the money in my opinion. It is very close to Whole Foods, however...

The front desk staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room was very, very nice. The hotel service was great. We will stay here next time through. the GM and all the staff are great. Nice People. We had a very enjoyable stay!! Thank you! We will be back.

I relied on other travelers' comments to book my reservation at the West Hartford Inn but wish I'd spent a little more money and stayed at a better hotel. The mattress was uncomfortable and I barely got any sleep.
