This is my first trip to PVR and I couldn't have been happier with this resort. The staff is courteous and go out of their way to accommodate you. The beach area is clean and nice and the pool overlooking it is beautiful. The rooms are clean and modern; I got a room with a jacuzzi tub which was nice. The on site restaurants serve great food and music. Overall, this resort is a great bet for your money and I would recommend it to any traveler.

We stayed at the Grand 3 years in a row. Our most recent stay was Feb 20008. We can't find a thing to complain about. The room were comfortable, the maid service great & personel all over the resort very friendly & helpful. We loved that we could walk the beach to Bucerious (approx. 30 min walk) or take the bus or taxi to Puerto Vallarta. We spend lots of time in Bucerious a small little town with great places to eat, drink & shop. Restaurants on the beach are wonderful with impecable service & will go out of their way to serve you. We would certainly return to ""The Grand"" in the future. Loved it!

Great hotel except for the noise of the construction next door. This did not bother us though. If you closed your bedroom doors , you could not hear it. Some people were complaining that the hotel was over booked and people were sent to other hotels. We made out OK and had a great trip. We had a 1st floor room when we arrived and were able to change rooms the next day to a room that had an ocean view on the 5th floor. The food was great and inexpensive. Hotel was clean and workerd coueous. Bus to town and Walmart worked fine.

We were at this hotel during the 3rd week of Feb. 2008. Travelocity did not tell us that there was a huge construction going on at the adjacent property. Upon our arrival at 3:00 PM the hotel staff told us that they were fully booked, and we would have to wait until 6:00 PM before a room could be available. Then they gave us a unit directly across the construction site. From 7:00AM to 7:00PM jackhammers and bulldozers kept a stereophonic noise, not to mention the dust and smell of diesel fumes. The hotel staff did not seem to interested in relocating us on subsequent days either. Someone told us that the construction project will not be completed until 2010.

Our family has traveled the world over and we have never experienced anything like this! I have never written a review but felt this needed to be addressed, so that no one else would to endure what we did. We booked a 2 bdrm condo thru a friends time share, it was awful! Checked in on Sat and out on Tuesday!
WORST SITUATION: Construction next door goes on continuously. Lights were on all night and heavy equipment at all all hours, for the next year or so. We asked to be moved and were constantly treated in a patronizing manner, with no resolution! Told there were no other rooms available and that we could not be moved. Monday got a notice rooms were being fumigated (so we needed to be out), and pool closed for maintenance,the pool was filthy(filtration problems?) so what are you supposed to do for 8 hours on Tuesday when all you want to do is lounge by the pool with friends! , the room smelled awful (cleaning fluids or ???, we complained many times), and was very worn, beds hard as rocks. The all inclusive is totally limiting, you are only allowed a few choices on the menu, no fish or better cuts of meat, which leaves you with chicken and burger! Cardenalli's Rest. on site was nice (nothing to fancy) but you can only eat there 3 times with 6 day all inclusive.
After I checked out, and had already re-booked my flight home the management offered the remainder of our group a smaller room in a nicer location away from construction. It is too bad, that this could not have been resolved before I decided to leave. I would have enjoyed the spending a week with my friends enjoying Nuevo Vallarta!
