The motel has been completely renovated since it was hit by Hurricane Ike at the end of 2008. We stay in the first floor rooms which are quite nice. They replaced the regular bathtub with granite showers, nice touch. The motel is just 1/2 mile from L'auberg du Lac casino. The rooms are a lot less expensive than the casino rooms and are very nice and well appointed. We stay there whenever we go to the casino. They also have a new waterfront restaurant call The Landing. the food and service are great and you can eat on the patio by the water if you want to. All in all the Inn On The Bayou is a nice place to stay and is very reasonable. The staff is also very cordial and helpful

This place might be made for campers looking for a place to lauch their boat. The brochures claims to have frig & micro in EVERY room. That's lie. We had a smoking room with no ashtrays. We had no coffee pot, iron, ironing board, and only one room key. Beakfast consisted of only disguishing coffee and nothing else. Bennigan's is in the parking lot but the food is awful. We have a Bennigan's here in Lafayette and the food is excellent. The remote for out TV did not work. The beds were so uncomfortable that we got no sleep. We had to dress for a wedding the next day and it's hard to dress in a dump like that!. Never pay $80 dollars for a room like that. You might be better off dressing in the local Chevron bathroom! The travel agency should be ashamed of even advertising this place!

The lovely photos of the bayou didn't mention that the location is between a loop of the Interstate and a very busy street, so noisy that you couldn't hear anything else! The desk staff was rude. The third time we complained about the construction workers staying in the room above us, clomping around at all hours and yelling outside our room, we were basically told that the construction company pays them $20-30 thousand a month, and we were only there for 5 nights. Although the maids were nice, the room was filthy. Cobwebs, trash under the trash cans, a tub I wouldn't wash my dog in, and mirrors and tv full of fingerprints and dirt. My brother and sister in law spent a night there, as we crossed paths on our winter getaways.

This was a bad experience from the very beginning. The rooms were dingy and musty smelling, pillows small and flat. We requested extra pillows but they didnt have anymore. The pool was dirty to the point we couldnt swim until my brother in law cleaned it each day.. we were told their pool guy was on vacation. Came back to room one night around 6pm to find it had not been cleaned or made up. Was told maid already left for the day.Next day maid didnt leave any towels in our room and we had to retrieve our own from the front desk. I would not stay or recommend this hotel to anyone.

Noisy!
05/19/2007If you stay on the river side, the restaurant plays very loud music until very late at night.
