  Pictures make this place look alot better than it is. Claimed to be a resort got there and did not want to stay, dirty , old ,front desk clerk tried to be nice but "acting mgr" made the point that I would not get my deposit back even thou I never asked for it. Front desk clerk admitted more like a big motor lodge than a resort. Save your money much better places to stay in Bar Harbor.

  Stayed July 2007. They are under new management and ownership and have done numerous updates since we stayed a couple of years ago. Our room was totally done over with new furniture, drapes, etc. Their pools are saline instead of nasty chlorine which was great, pet friendly rooms, suites, etc. Clean room, nice staff, nice lounge overlooking the ocean with overstuffed leather couches and chairs. Would recommend highly

  We paid 20. extra per night for an ""ocean view"" and mostly had a view of the roof of the adjacent building. The free breakfast buffet made me want to go into town and pay for breakfast. Pop tarts, cold eggs and stale pastry are not my idea of a vacation breakfast.

  We were promised a deluxe room with ocean view. However, the room provided had a very distant partial ocean view. Since, they had already charged our credit card, we had no choice but to take what was offered, which was neither ""deluxe"" nor ""ocean view"".
