The hotel is situated on the south end of Jaco Beach away from "the action" of Jaco city. Yet, Jaco is only a couple of minutes away by cab. The staff of the hotel are all very friendly and if you stay there for more than a couple of nights, you can get to know everybody and they know you. The food at the hotel restaurant,"Las Sandalias" was excellent. They had"Recession Buster" prices on drinks and some food. But don't let that fool you, the hotel is top class. I stayed in a deluxe room which was plenty big. It has two large closets and a safe. The balconies are large with a table and two chairs to have your morning coffee. The shower is the open step-in type with glass tiles. The reception desk has a huge selection of tours you can book although you can probably get a better deal in town. Free WiFi, too. My only complaint is that since the hotel is located on a major Costa Rican road right before a hill, you will frequently hear the loud noise of trucks engine braking. Other than that, no complaints.

I have stayed at Club Del Mar many times myself, as well as introduced many of my friends to this laid back hotel. Everyone who has come here has loved it; A nice change from the chain hotels. The Marriott Los Suenos is also fantastic, but it is completely different than Club Del Mar. Try Club Del Mar for something more authentic in Costa Rica. The standard hotel rooms are very clean, but they are small, and leave a little to be desired. I suggest paying the extra $* or so and stay in one of the condos. They have one and two bedroom condos, and both are very spacious and comfortable. Look on ClubDelMarCostaRica dot com for some great photos. The pool is small, but it is a great place to take in the beautiful view of the ocean and sunset. They have the best sunsets on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The hotel is right on the beach at the south end of Jaco, which makes it very quiet and peaceful. You can hear the waves crash from your room at night. The beach is a little rocky, but so is the rest of the beach in Jaco. Travel south to Manuel Antonio for some beautiful beaches with white sand. The surfing in Jaco is great, waves are consistent, and the size is right. I will say that he food at the hotel is not the best. I found the breakfast to be the best offering. I would pass on dinner; the restaurant closes early and there is no room service after it closes. You have to leave the hotel to get food late at night. Even when the hotel is full, it still seems like you have the place to yourself. It's a great place..
