Hyland's was our first stop on a 2 week trip around Ireland. The hotel was clean and the staff was welcoming. I was a bit put off at first about the service but found as time went on that things are a bit more casual in Ireland than they are in the U.S. In that light the room was roomy and bathrooms were spotless. Breakfast was included in our room fee and I was surprised to see that we could have anything from scones and tea to a full Irish breakfast. Ballyvaughan is a lovely little town with a couple of restaurants, a tea shop and a grocery store among other things. Don't miss Monks Pub at the pier. The chowder is terrific.
