I was in Aiken for a week, traveling to and from a remote location about an hour's drive away. I have stayed at other Marriott properties in the past and loved them, so of course my first choice was a Marriott during my first business trip to SC. My coworker who was also staying at this hotel in another room didn't have any problems, which I why I gave a rating of 3, but please know that I was very displeased with this hotel's service. There was food in my fridge from a previous guest! There were NO cups in the bathroom/room, so of course my first night there it was late and I wanted a glass of water. I was in my PJs already so I just gave up and got some cups the next morning from the front desk. They did not restock my shampoo bottles, stating that this was "non-standard". They only did this once I complained about it. Getting to the hotel late at night, all I wanted was a hot shower and fresh soap and shampoo. None of the trash cans had plastic wastebags in them which you would think would be important for helping keep the room clean. The pool is tiny. It did have it's good parts though: fresh,new carpeting throughout, excellent complimentary breakfast, comfortable beds, internet, and TV. My frustration was working long hours and then having to ask them to give me something that should have been "Standard!" I will not stay at this hotel again. Ever.
