  Value and luxury don't usually go together, but in the case of the Hotel d'Europe it was a great value for a huge room and spacious bathroom by European standards. We did not have a view, but it didn't matter since we spent little time in our room. Nevertheless our suitcases and shopping bags were scattered all over the room and we could still walk around without tripping over things. There were terry bathrobes, thick towels, disposable terry slippers, and lovely selection of personal toiletries. The air conditioning worked very well so that despite the July heat our room stayed cool and comfortable. The staff was helpful and I enjoyed having free internet access. in the lobby area This 5-star hotel is in a great location, so we could walk to the Palais des Papes, Pont St. Benezet, and great shopping. Although we did not eat at the restaurants, we had drinks in the lovely courtyard in front of the hotel. No matter that it was 34 C or 93 F in Avignon there always seemed to be a breeze in the courtyard, so we were able to sit and chat with our traveling companions for quite some time. We also spent time in the well-appointed and elegant lobby. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone for convenience, luxury and value.
