We stayed at the hotel on the way back north after our Orlando vacation. The hotel was nice, clean, and staff were helpful. They were able to accommodate our requests and were friendly. There was nice food around for dinner (my husband loves Outback and it was in the same parking lot). We liked the microwaves in the rooms as we were able to quickly make my daughter some quick gerber food. We were initially excited for the pool, but when we got there both the pool and hot tub were green. We did not use either. We used our hilton points so the room was a good value for us (I do not know what it usually goes for).

I have stayed in this hotel at least six times in the last year. Each time was a pleasant stay until my first stay of 2008. First, the rates have jumped up, and they no longer offer a Government Rate (bad choice for a location so close to a government installation). Second, they have eliminated the "free" coffee station at the front counter. Now, a cup of coffee TO GO is usually less than $2 at a convenience store, but why would a hotel discontinue such a courteous, business-friendly gesture? Coffee makers are located in rooms, but insufficient condiments were provided, and no to-go cups. I don't know if it's new management, or a new approach to business, but I WON'T be staying here again any time soon. Plus, the rate that I was given was comparable to resort rates at the oceanfront in the Summer....but this was in Colonial Heights in the Winter.
