The HJ Inn is located in a desolate looking area of Minneola, and it looks like it belongs there. The establishment next door is closed and in bad condition. The check in process was usual. However once given the keys and finding our room is where the trouble began. The Inn is in desperate need of rehabilition. The halls and carpeting REEK of smoke and stale food. My traveling companion's allergic coniditon would not permit us to stay there, even after having our room changed. We subsequently had to find accomodations in another Hotel in Clermont. We had such DIFFICULTY with the STAFF in trying to secure otter accomodations at the same rate, we felt that because the HJ Inn appeared on your website it was give your stamp of approval. We were finally able to resolve the situation thru website who assisted us in oher accomodations.

We were only one of 4 rooms that were full that night. The tissue box was empty, there was no ice in the ice machine, the air conditioner put off a funny smell, breakfast was a few muffins, danishes, cereal, bad coffee and juice. But it was a cheap bed and working bathroom and that was all we really needed.

Hotel is good price and is clean, what more can you ask for. Also the staff is very helpful. It is few minutes from Clermont but not bad for the price plus I saved more than what I spent on the stay, SO OVERALL HAPPY.

Upon arrival, I thought the place was closed down, except for sign on front window saying Open. Staff not very familiar with processing deals with Travelocity. Room extremely hot upon check-in. High speed internet only through wireless transfer. High Speed not really fast at all, even if you are in a room nearby one of the routers, (2 in each hallway). You will not get a signal unless you are in a room very near router. I had to ask to transfer to another room to get signal. I was there for a death in the family. Beds are pretty hard, not my thing. No alarm clocks. No fans in restrooms. Comfortable shower head and water pressure. Room was serviced on Saturday, when I called up front to find out why, reception told me that the accomodations by the hotel depend on the deal you get from travelocity. Sunday night I call and ask for a wakeup call for Monday morning at 4:00 to be at airport by 6:30, they say no problem. Thank God I set my phone for alarm, because no wakeup call was ever delivered. To top things off, during my stay, I guess they had a police dog competition in town, because there was continuous barking throughout the halls, namely the rooms surrounding my room. Never again...

I RECENTLY STAYED AT THE HOWARD JOHNSON IN CLERMONT FL I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS A BETTER STAY THAN MY LAST STAY IN EARLY MARCH. THE ROOM SMELLED REALLY GOOD THEY HAVE EXPANDED THERE BAR AND LOUNGE AND HAVE A BETTER VARIETY OF FOOD. THEY ALSO SEEMED TO UPGRADE THERE BATHROOM IN THE ROOMS THE TILE AND TUB WAS IN REALLY GOOD CONDITION. I NEED DIRECTION AND THE FRONT DESK STAFF PRINTED ME DIRECTION WHICH I FEEL WAS REALLY NICE. BECAUSE I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO GET LOST. I FEEL I GOT MY MONEY WORTH ON THIS STAY THAN THE LAST TIME I STAYED I WILL RETURN.
