Whenever we go to Charleston every year we always stay at this hotel. If you are a friendly and courteous traveler, the staff here will treat you like family. I think some travelers expect to be waited on hand and foot and are spolied. What a shame! This hotel is very clean and the staff are great. It is a quiet place that doesn't have all of those amenities that some like so check it out before you book. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, and you are not rude or expecting to be treated like royalty, but rather as a friend, stay here. If you're staying for a few nights, leave a few bucks on the bed for housekeeping. It really makes a difference. If you want a full breakfast, go out to a full-service restaurant. The hotel has warm breakfast food; not 5-star but certainly adequate for all but the most picky. If you want coffee with real cream, bring your own or go to Starbucks. This is a nice hotel for most people. If you're really picky, and expect everything to be like the Hyatt Regency, you'll be a bit disappointed. If you're a reasonable traveler and have reasonably high expectations, this hotel will work really well for you.

Not a bad place, mostly clean and in good repair. Their breakfast, however, is a waste. Powdered creamer for your coffee, that doesn't taste good anyway, mini muffins and bagles, sour waffles and warm ""juice"". Don't waste your time.

I would not stay at this hotal again. We had to asked for towels and was told that towels were being washed and would bring them later. We had to ask for pillows for the sofa bed and sheets to go on it. We were told that they may not have any extra pillows. We did received two extra pillows.l We had a queen size bed with sofa bed and kitchenette. The room only had one trash can and that was in the bathroom. The layout of the room was not great. You could bearly watch the TV on the sofa, since it was in the bed area, for the kitchenette counter. The pool was not clean and the pool area needed cleaning and no guest towels were available. The hallways smelled of cigerette smoke. What staff we meet were nice.

We stayed only one night but were going in between downtown Charleston and the Isle of Palms. We were very impressed with the location and it only took us about 5 minutes to get to the historic part of the city. The front desk clerk gave me very good directions about getting to the beach. The hotel looked alright and the room is a little small, but for the thrify traveler, it was absolutely perfect!

The hotel is very convinent to everything in the Charleston/ Mt Plesant area. The hotel staff was very rude to us and did not take our resvervation so therfore we had to call online travel website and they had to straigten the whole thing out. We wasted an hour trying to get checked in to a nasty room that had not been vacuumed. The bathroom had hair on the floor from the previous guest. When they cleaned our room the next day, they left dirty towels and wash cloths in our floor, they did not empty the garbage and did not clean the bathroom. We will NEVER go back to this hotel. When we pay this kind of Money we expect to have a nice stay and we were very dissapointed!!!
