I thought the hotel was great. The grounds are very nice and the staff is very attentive and kind as well. The room was comfy and clean. The food there at the hotel restaurant isn't the best but if you don't feel like going across to the S-Mart for some tortas or burritos then it is very conveinent and inexpensive. The consulate really isn't a 15 minute walk away its more like 30-35 minute walk away but you really don't need to walk there because the hotel has shuttles to and from the consulate and the clinic that leaves every hour. Felt very safe staying here and will definitely be staying again.

  • over all, not to bad....

like most we were there for imigration. this hotel is close to the old consulate, not the new one. if you are going to juarez for imigration reasons this is a nice place to stay. they have a free shuttle every hour to the consulate/medical facilitys starting at 5 am, and no you dont have to get in line at 3 am like some say you have to. if your going to the medical get there around 5am, you should have an appointment time for the consulate then get there about 2 hours before your time or 6am at the earliest. our room was clean, not up to my wifes standards, but clean. the walls are a bit thin, but it depends on your neighbors. the ac/heater is a bit noisy, but i was so tired it didnt matter. there is a place to eat in the hotel with a bar, but i thought it was a little high priced. they do have a pool. and there is 24hr secirity. many of the staff speak english, or enough to help. beds are a little hard. accrost the street is a mall with a grocery store. if your going to be there a while you can get some food there to keep in your room to save money. if you get somthing that needes to stay cold you will have to get ice from the bar. if you go through the mall and cross the next street there is a building with 6 small places to eat, its cheap and good. there are lots of signs for resturants that we never got to that are close, american and mexican. over all its not a bad place to stay.

My husband and I stayed in June and September of 2008 for immigration purposes, it was about 1/2 mile walking distance from the hotel to the embassy. we walked from and to the hotel, since most of the people checked in are there for the same purpose, at first I was very insecure of staying with all the violence you hear going on, to our experience it wasn't that bad of course we would only walk to the consulate and if we had no other business we just stayed at the hotel for safety. Theres a mall across the street wich most of the time all the little stores are closed and and a supermarket where we went several times but nothing fancy, the hotel was ok, yet there was too much noise at night and it was hard to go to sleep. Restaurant ok only for breakfast, lunch and dinner I don't recomend it's pricy and there's not much variety of food. our only alternative was a subway across the street it was the only restaurant open nearby. service was ok if you go here try and book before, we had our reservations and still had to wait about an hour to clean our room, they have a internet lobby, but good luck it's always busy, i would get up early to go. we would only reccommend if you're going for immigration purposes.

Very safe and secure. However this Hotel is not any where near the US Consulate. They do provide a free shultel service though. Which is about a 20 minute ride. We did see another hotel next to the consulate but was NOT this one. Food is expensive and not very good. I hurt my foot and they did transfer us down to a first floor room with an extra charge. Would not recomend if you go for the Consulate. Notes: If you drive make sure and get the car or truck taged. Make SURE when you come back to cancile out your vehical Tag and Immagration paper. They charge per day while you are in Mexico. And you will have a fine if not canciled. If you do not cancile out your vehical Tag it is considered as being in Mexico. If you reenter you have to cancile out the Tag, pay for a new one and pay a fine. When you drive in Mexico below Juarez you will need a drivers permite. which is the first time I have been ordered and almost fined for not haveing one.

My Husband and I stayed at the Holiday Inn b/c we were there for the American Consuler. When we first arrived at the hotel they advise us that it would be about another hour, which was fine with us. An hour later we went back to the front desk and waited for or room. The customer service there is the worst I have ever experienced. The room was clean but the wall were thin you could hear everything. Everything to the point that i could hear what the other people were doing in the other rooms next to us. Things that nobody wants to hear there neighbors doing. Even when people walked by you could hear them from a distance. The AC in the room was loud as well. Bed was ok but with all the noise who could sleep. We also eat at the resturant, and let me tell you not good at all. The food is to high priced. Another thing we ordered room service, they only brought half of food we called back and they never brought the other part of your food. The only thing good I can say about the Hotel is that it is only walking distance for the consular.
