Selected this hotel based on location, previous B.W. experience and PRIMARILY because pets were welcome. Upon arrival I was asked agree to a $ charge if I had a pet. This was not previously disclosed and II was told if I booked on the site it would have been. There was another fellow in the lobby scrambling to find 2 beds in another hotel since all they were offering him was a single bed on a reservation made and paid for on another popular site. They were telling him that he should have read the fine print which stated that room assignments were not guaranteed. The head housekeeper whispered to me that booking directly was the only way to go. I guess that was supposed to make me feel better? Because my dogs are under 25# the fee was lowered to $25. I paid with the plan to take the matter up later. It's still open as I pursue it with The online help. Pros - good bed and linens - clean room - good ventilation - quiet Cons - Single sluggish central elevator- no central staircase - a ""suite"" is a slightly larger room ONLY with no divider - breakfast buffet was basic, understaffed and amateur with chilled items kept in cheap bowls of ice water, nightly housekeeper needed more training or oversight. trash not emptied, soap discarded and not replaced . On Monday the buffet was out of many items. It was a Holiday weekend and the staff seemed overworked. The morning desk clerk doubled as the buffet attendant and the night clerk doubled as maintenance man when the hide-a-bed wouldn't open without flipping it over and kicking at it. Previously I've been very pleased with Best Western Properties, something is a bit ""off"" with this one

We were doing an art show nearby and needed an inexpensive room, no frills. This room was labeled a small room with queen bed. It was roomy and had all the accessories a larger room might have. We were very happy with this place. It is 20 miles from downtown, but we only went there once in the 3 days

We had a working vacation in Charlston to attend a convention and also visit with our son stationed at the naval weapons station. Hotel was clean, affordable and extremly accomodating to our needs. Staff was friendly and responded promptly to our special requests.Naval station was a 15 minute ride, downtown Charlston only 20 minutes away. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

We arrived late to our reservation and although our online travel website had accidentally put us in a smoking room, they had anticipated the glitch and moved us to a clean, smoke-free room. The front desk was cheerful and helpful, gave us a cord for free internet when asked about wi-fi. Room was clean and actually pretty (for this price, yay!) and included mini fridge and micro. Appreciated security of interior access, free breakfast was adequate (glad for boiled eggs & croissants after endless waffles in other hotels). Checked out a little late with no hassle, and near to interstate.

A total of 10 family members stayed here for a wedding and everything was great!! Staff went out of their way to accommodate your every need. Rooms are clean. Easy access to the main highway & close to restaurants. The Continental breakfast was terrific. I've seen other hotels with more choices but no one would go hungry. Plenty of choices. Internet available and a printer for confirmation of airline ticket and printing of your boarding pass. Everything mentioned in the hotel amenities section is true. GREAT!!!
