  I got the last room in the place late one afternoon, right on the street, small--and surprisingly nice. I even had wif-fi. Loved the location too--right on Ocean Ave. I walked to dinner! So great not to use my car the whole time--even walked to the ocean. The breakfast was more ambitious than most and provided an array of basic breakfast fare. I was up early though and walked to a coffee roaster down the street!

  Carmel Inns and Suites was a great place to stay. Front desk was friendly, helpful, efficient. Room was very comfortable--roomy, great bed. My husband thought there were too many ""flowers"" (drapes, chairs, bedspread), but I thought it all quite pretty. We were handy to everything in Carmel, and yet the room was quiet, peaceful. A bonus was the little breakfast offered, which I hadn't expected. It was simply toast, pastry, cereal, coffee and juice, but nicely presented. Altogether a great place.
