  What are you doing right now and why are you not at the DusitD2??? We booked this hotel on a whim and just fell in love with it--and Chiang Mai as a whole. Chiang Mai is the walled cultural capital of Thailand and a don't-miss. The D2 looks like a hotel in NYC. It's sleek, space-age, and really really hip. It reminded me a lot of a Ian Schrager hotel, actually. The downstairs bar had awesome happy hour deals and we often met friends there for a drink. The staff was friendly, attentive, and truly awesome. The room was small but really cool and comfy. I can't recommend this hotel enough. The only downfall was that the beds were rock hard--but that was the case everywhere we stayed in Thailand.

  Very deluxe hotel in an excellent location. Famed night market is at your front door. Deluxe club rooms are miniscule for such a high price. Room cleaning is done mid-afternoon, so you can't come back to your room and relax in the afternoon.
