Very unsafe neighborhood. Parked near our room on side of hotel where there was almost no-one else in the lot at the time. Was very frighted to return to our car to find 2 suspicious persons in a car right next to us lighting a pipe. Went to get ice & a group of men that did not appear to be staying at the hotel loitering in the area. Desk attendant not personable. Rooms were not clean. Carpet was filthy. Debrise from last visitor still in room. Received a call from front desk before check out time asking if we were staying another night. We didn't even get into our car before he was in our room. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Do not take your children!!!!!!!

A solid quality rest stop for travelers. Nothing fancy, but they provide some extras typically found in properties catering more to business travel. Very affordable for long-distance travelers, the hotel was manned round-the-clock to accommodate our rain-delayed arrival (rest stop in a long-distance interstate auto trip). Bedrooms were neat, although smoke-free meant that they had made serious attempts to eliminate long-term effects of many prior smokers. Vanity was great. Bathroom was adequate, although floor could have been cleaner (remedy: use provided bath mat). Better than some Holiday Inn and Ramada properties I've stayed in. No wireless or in-room Internet, but they provided a terminal in the breakfast/lobby area for guest use.

Although my room was listed as nonsmoking, the room had been used by smokers in the past and the odor still hung in the air and on the drapes, carpeting and bedding. After a few blasts of air freshener it improved a bit. The rooms need some serious updating. The carpets are stained and the tile is cracked. The staff does seem to do their best making each room pleasant but this is an older property that has seen better days and they can only do so much. The free breakfast includes some nice offerings like waffles and biscuits & gravy in addition to the regular juice, muffin, bagel fare. Would I stay again? Probably not if something else was available but I made my reservations late for a football weekend and this was the best choice in my price range.

If you need a room for overnight, the price is right. The staff was very friendly and after an ice storm the night before, they were out early getting everything cleaned off. The breakfast was nice. Will stay again overnight on the way to Chicago for the price.
