Overall this was a great deal. The room was big, the beds were comfy. Also, the staff was very friendly. There were a couple of issues that bothered me, however. You could tell that the complementary tea bag had been there for a while, and had been handled. They also had their stir sticks in a zip lock type bag that was full enough to give the impression that it is not changed from customer to customer. I know we need to be frugal, but couldn't we all have our own zippy?

My husband & I were in town on business and had never stayed at a Wingate before. We were pleasantly surprised. The cost of the room was cheap compared to others, so we weren't expecting it to be very nice. We were SO wrong. The room was clean & very nicely decorated. The room was very large also. The bed was very comfortable with an egg crate mattress. It had a microwave, refrigerator, & in-room safe which was very convenient. The bathroom was lovely with corian countertops and the shower had fantastic water pressure. All in all, this hotel was fantastic. There was a Vanderbilt/Alabama football game the weekend we came into town & we were unable to stay at the hotel we usually do. Now I am glad that happened...it gave us the opportunity to stay at the Wingate & see how lovely it is for such a good price. It's also near LOTS of stores, malls, & a HUGE movie theater. You will NOT be dissappointed staying here! We'll be back again even if our usual hotel is available!

We needed a weekend away and sought this place as a refuge; it would have been perfect had the internet worked and if the b-fast was better (actually it's a joke). The room had carpet stains, food left over in the in-room fridge, old coffee and hair in the tub! Yuk... But, the rooms are big, the beds solid and the staff great! Just clearn the rooms better and this would be a ""5"" for the price and location!

Hotel and rooms are very bright and clean with comfortable beds. Rooms are good-size with desk with chair and 2 sitting chairs. FREE In-room high speed internet - both wired & wireless. Wed. evening happy hour is great!
