We chose this inn because it offered a king siteand we thought we'd be able to park there and walk to the beach. Big disappointment. The place is at least 3/4 mile from the main drag, on a street with no sidewalks and lots of trucks roaring by. Our king suite did have a decent-sized bed, but the chairs by the fireplace were a joke - more like tiny little stools. Nobody would ever sit there for long, certainly not to relax. Plus, I was disappointed that the fireplace was not wood-burning no cozy crackling, no rustic wood smell; and required lighting a match and then turning on the gas with one of those metal keys ;not a switch on the wall;. My husband nearly singed off his arm hair getting it lit. What else? Let's see. The lightbulbs were all those flourescent types, making the room so bright it felt like we should be interrogated. The bathroom had ZERO counter space, with just a tiny little awkwardly-placed glass shelf above the pedestal sink. But the WORST thing was how the bottom sheet wasn't fitted and kept coming off, revealing the bare mattress that was covered in some shiny slippery upholstery. Between trying to keep the sheet on and the roar of traffic outside our door, it did not make for a good night's sleep. In the morning, the breakfast was toast, English muffins, and wimpy coffee - with POWDERED creamer. We left and went to Starbucks. The one good thing I could say is that the room felt clean enough. Oh yeah - one more thing. Security. Well, you access the room with a code, and let's just say that anyone can figure out the code if you know the room number.

The room was very clean. the gardens around the property were beautiful. The breakfast area was clean and comfortable. I thought it was a great value for the area. It is a little out of the way from the beach and downtown. We drove down to the beach and found plenty of free parking.

We stayed here in March 2009 and loved the place.The Inn is so calming and relaxing.The staff were very helpfull and genuinelyfreiindly. There is a little road noise during the day, but at evening and night very little. Close to town,(15 minutes walk) and yet not too close.Really good access to Monterey and the Highway,made travelling the area easier.Overall we really enjoyed the Inn and Carmel.We`ll be back.

I originally booked a place at a local hotel chain (Holiday Inn) thinking it would be outstanding but the "Non Smoking" room was filled with the stench of smoke. So left and while going towards downtown Carmel found this nice hotel villa right before you enter downtown Carmel.
It was perfect and quite and considering the busy holiday weekend the staff was very pleasant and eager to help.
The room was very large and had new and upgraded amenities. A nice 42" plasma and large bathroom perfect for laying in bed after a Long Day!
Definitely a great place to stay with a significant other. -

I loved my stay at Crystal Terrace. They recently went through a renovation and put up brand new furniture as well as brand new HDTV Flat Screens. The TV must have been at least 40 inches cause I was watching the football playoffs in hidefinition. The rooms are very clean and the staff was extremely nice. My room was very spacious. I stayed in a king suite and loved it dearly. My girlfriend loved the fireplace and free wireless internet acess and was able to do work while I was watching the game. The front desk person recommended a great italian restaurant that we just loved. Probably the best italian restaurant we have ever had. We had wine and cheese on Friday which was great. We met with other travelers and traded stories. Breakfast was fresh and good. Loved the fruit salad and croissant sandwiches. I recommend this place to everyone.
