This hotel was at the entrance to the National Wildlife Refuge which made trips into the refuge easy to access. The balcony to the room faced the refuge and had chairs for relaxing and taking in the scenery. The hotel was very clean and very pleasantly decorated, the staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. There was a computer for use in the lobby with a printer that was helpful for making ferry reservations and printing out the confirmation. My only regret was that we only had one night to stay there.

Very good hotel for the money. Excellent continental breakfasts with eggs, sausage, cereals, pastries, muffins, waffles, tropical fruit, juices and hot coffee. Meals at the restaurants in town are expensive, so the continental breakfasts are a bonus. Staff - very friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel is great -- at "quieter" side of island -- near the wildlife refuge, which has nice trails to walk -- see the wild ponies, birds, and the beach. Island is small enough that even with the speed limit of 25, it doesn't take but a minute or two to get to stores and restaurants. Pool looked nice, but was not in use when we were there -- too cold. We had a view of the lighthouse from our little balcony. Didn't notice if the hotel offered any fitness facility or activities, we kept busy with the trails & town. Would stay there again, but would stay on the third floor instead of 2nd for an even better view.

hotel was very,very nice and in a GREAT location to the beach,stores,dining, etc... room was amazing and very very clean... staff were very friendly and eager to help when needed... check-in and out were extremely easy and quick, we arrived at 11:05 am and were told the room was ready for us (which was especially nice since had been driving since 1 am)... My husband and I were overall thrilled with our time there and would HIGHLY reccommend to stay here and would stay again ourselves!

hotel was very,very nice and in a GREAT location to the beach,stores,dining, etc... room was amazing and very very clean... staff were very friendly and eager to help when needed... check-in and out were extremely easy and quick, we arrived at 11:05 am and were told the room was ready for us (which was especially nice since had been driving since 1 am)... The family and I stayed here the last week in March 2008. Unfortunately the outdoor pool was not in season so I am unable to comment on that. One great thing about this property is that it is located at the entrance to the wildlife refuge. A bike rental shop is located just across the street, so in minutes you can be tooling your way through scenic trails past the lighthouse, on your way to the beach. We found the accommodations to be exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated. The only negative was that the pillows were bit too large. From our balcony on the second floor you could sit and enjoy the peace and quiet of the night while watching the beacon from the Assateague light flash across the landscape. The staff was wonderful and always there to help. The breakfast was very nice, sausage, eggs, waffles, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and looking forward to returning there.
