Took the whole family for a vacation in the sun. My wife and four boys (20-15). Beautiful hotel with anything you want. Food was very good and lots of choices for different styles from the La Tortuga Buffet to American, mexican and other themed resaurants. Lots of Bars, Two pool bars and the Overtime sports bar and a disco nightly. With bowling and a casino right on the grounds and daily night time shows, there was always something to do! The beach was beautiful and always some type of activity on the beach to keep to busy if that's what you want, or just soak up the sun. Don't miss Mikes Coffee House for various choices of coffee after dinner. My family is trying to arange a trip this year to go back!! Hope we can work it out.

We spent a week at this hotel in April. Room was clean and spacious although we found the bed to be very hard. A/C was pretty cold and didn't seem to adjust which was OK by me but my wife likes it warmer. Resort is well set out and the pools are great places to spend the day, although get up early to put towels out if you want a good spot, and even earlier if you wanted one on the beach. Beach was beautiful with safe swimming. Was disappointed not to have staff taking drink orders at the pool that has been the experience in other resorts, but the bars were all over the place so it wasn't a big deal. Food was great although I am mystified as to their beef restaurant which you have to pay for and reserve in advance. It seems to be they don?t really want customers. I called several times during the afternoon to reserve a table and got no answer, then was finally told it was too late to book for that night. However walking past it around the time we would have gone, it was empty and was when we walked past it again later that night. The entire week we were there I saw 4 people in there. So the good things: Nice situation, beaches and pools great. Food good, staff generally friendly and professional. The bad.. we had a 4 year old and all the shows started too late for him. It would be nice to see something starting around 7:30 to give the younger children and their parents a chance. And NO! We do NOT want a *$%&* timeshare! Avoid the welcome breakfast at all costs!. All in all a good place for families

Pros: We went to Punta Cana in October. We went with friends and we are all coming back this year. Our room was nice and clean. The staff overall were very frienly and helpful. Make sure you bring plenty of dollar bills for tips because it is very hard to get change there. The pool bar and beach bar are great. We had so much fun and the bartenders are entertaining and funny. The food took a little getting used to. But after I got home I actually craved Domincan Food. The Domincan restaurant was wonderful. You have to try the Quail Soup! We went to eat there more than any of the other restaurants. The Italian restaurnat is excellent also. I would recommend the Safari Tour. If you don't do an excursion you are missing out. The Safari Tour is very informative about the history and culture of the Dominican. The casino is fun, although it's only open in the evenings. Cons: Maid service was a little slow, but they did a good job. Staff were friendly, except for the computer room. Stores are very expensive so bring plenty of sunscreen because you will pay twice the price in their shop. The beach shops are very pricy too. I didn't buy anything unless I talked them down on the price, and they knew that. That's why they set the price so high. Some of the the people working in these shops were very rude. We are looking foreward to going back.

Pros: We went to Punta Cana in October. We went with friends and we are all coming back this year. Our room was nice and clean. The staff overall were very frienly and helpful. Make sure you bring plenty of dollar bills for tips because it is very hard to get change there. The pool bar and beach bar are great. We had so much fun and the bartenders are entertaining and funny. The food took a little getting used to. But after I got home I actually craved Domincan Food. The Domincan restaurant was wonderful. We spent 10 days at the Ocean Blue in January. We took three kids ages 19, 17, 14. All of us had a wonderful time. The resort was not too crowded, there were no long lines and the staff catered to the kids. The pools are beautiful and the beach is very nice and clean. There is plenty to do including games, rock climbing, bowling, boating. The restaurants are typical for this area, but very clean and with a great variety of food. The rooms were quite nice and comfortable. The shows at night were good to excellent. There is a great coffee shop called Mike's cafe for snacks or relaxing after the shows. There is a midnight buffet in the sports bar. They have a new teen lounge with a staff member supervisor which is a good safe place for kids. Some hints are: bring plenty of $1 bills and tip everyone, bring 100 watt bulbs since the lighting in the room is low.The shopping complex on the beach next door is great for souveniers and clothes/jewelry/cigar purchases but you need to bargain. Take anything with you that you might need, the shops in the resort are very expensive for necessities. We had a fantastic time at this resort and would highly recommend it.
