Beautiful Short Getaway

This was a short 3 night trip in November. When we got there they upgraded us onto the water. It was beautiful ! People at the hotel were all very nice and helpful and willing to go out of their way for you. The front desk was extremly helpful. Our meal plan was the best decision we made since it is expensive to eat on the island . The Chef there was outstanding in all aspects and you can choose anything off their menu. Their steaks were outstanding and fresh island fish were remarkable. However, we didn't dispare and we were still able to sample island cusine at lunch. Rooms were cleaned daily with nice hot showers and robes provided. We would certainly go back again. If you are looking for a hotel room with a TV in it, you won't find it here. Relax, Relax, Relax ! It's a beautiful view in all directions from your own personal porch and most cabanas have their own beach. It was a great casual resort.

We stayed for 5 nights in August 2009 and it wasn't a great experience. We booked the most expensive cabana, paid over $* a night, and it felt like we were staying in a tent at a campground. The concept is nice but the grounds were unkempt, the pool dirty, not enough beach chairs and the lack of service personnel was horrible. We once waited 25 minutes for a beer at their outdoor lounge. There is an awful smell that permeates most of the resort that smells like cow dung. Lastly, although there are fans and air-conditioners in the rooms, at all times it was hot and humid -- very difficult to sleep. But, the views were FANTASTIC!

We stayed 5 nights in May and were very happy. The staff was excellent and very helpful with certain issues we had. The onsite restaurant, Hi Tides, was on par with other nice restaurants in Bermuda. Not a big selection but what they had was delicious and presented nicely. The waiters were in short supply so we had long waits but that would be my only complaint. The complimentary breakfast buffet was wonderful. Above and beyond most hotel breakfast buffets I've been to. Also ordered Ala Carte room service which was tasty and delivered promptly. We loved the location of 9 Beaches. We felt like we had our own private island with great views all around. We visited just before peak season started so we didn't have any trouble with crowded beaches. Usually only a couple of others on the beaches we chose. Always had beach chairs and umbrellas available. Had a fun time snorkeling on our own and saw lots of tropical fish. All that being said, please keep in mind that this is somewhat comparable to camping. You can hear voices from neighboring cabanas. If it is windy, there is considerable flapping and rattling noise. Even though we stayed in a Sea Forever cabana, we could still hear the water which I found soothing but my husband found disconcerting. The cabana is also small. My husband and I and our 12 year old son shared it. Our son slept on a futon. Since we spent most of our time outside, we didn't have a problem with the size. Would recommend a blow-dryer and microwave for the rooms. That would make the stay a bit more convenient. Never noticed a bad odor from the farm.

The accomodations were very unique. I was a little skeptical about staying in a room with canvas sides and roof, but was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the cabana. The setting is so beautiful. A great place to watch the sun rise and set. All cabanas have a view of the waterand are graced by a gentle ocean breeze. The staff was kind and courteous. I went for a quick weekend, but would definitely go back for a longer stay!!!

The location was perfect! Some 10 mins walk from the bus stop, but the view of the beautiful blue ocean right in front of you, is worth a lot! The only issue was an unpleasant and quite strong, honestly, odor that reached us the last couple of days of our stay, coming from the neighboring farm. That was something was didn't expect, as it was not mentioned anywhere...
