We stayed here in peak season of July 2009. The pools are great. Beach is great. Restaurant was OK at best. Parking is across the street in a private garage. This made for some extra walking, but not a huge deal. Plenty of food and drinks close by. The activities for the kids each day was a nice feature we were not expecting. Did have a leak in the tub in our room but was handled well by maintenance. All in all I would recommend this resort to others, especially considering the cost.

We arrived late on a Friday night. The desk agent was very polite and helpful. The washer/dryer combo in our unit was out of order. We thought the Avista Resort should not have rented out this unit. Additionally, the concierge was not at all helpful. She only tried to get us to attend a seminar to purchase a condo. The resort was very clean, and the food was great.

This hotel was clean, right on the beach, and everyone was very friendly and helpful. We landed early, and they allowed us to check in right away. Our room was oceanview, but had great views and a big balcony. There are a lot poolside activities for children such as henna tattoos, hair braiding, scavenger hunts, etc. The lazy rivers were fun, and the resturants were never too busy and had good food. I had a great dinner there on my last stay! Also, The concierge was helpful in getting us a taxi to visit some local attractions. I would stay there again!!

We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Avista Resort. It was a great room with two balconies and separate sleeping areas for the kids and the adults. The full kitchen was great with a washer and dryer to use daily. This was the first vacation that we returned from with all clean clothing and not a huge pile of laundry to do at home. The condo we had was great with a side view of the ocean. It only had one bathroom but the sized was excellent. It had an oversized tub and a large vanity. Room for 4 to enjoy a comfortable vacation. The location was close to alot of attractions yet not alot of crowds. Sunday and Thursday were the two busiest days at the pool area. I would return again and recommend this property to all my friends. The best rates were obtained by calling the hotel direct and asking for a manager special. We had an ""I"" category on a lower floor so we did not have to wait on the elevator all the time. We used the stairs to go and come from the beach which had two ramps with shower facility to get the sand off before going to the room. This was a great vacations for 2 adults and two teenagers. Lots to do in Myrtle Beach area for family fun.

My wife and I stayed here for the Memorial Day weekend in room 724. Clean. Beautiful ocean views, very nice staff, eateries and pools (indoors and outside). One of the newer properties with its very own (no fee) parking garage. We vacation once or twice yearly: Grand Lido in Jamaica, cruises galore, the Bahamas, Aruba, etc. - this place stacks up will the best. Very pleased - we will return.
