I booked a vacation for my partner and myself during high season for 3 nights. We don't have much money and we wanted to go to P-town to support gay business, stay in a friendly place. Within an hour of our arrival, my partner had a death in the immediate family--a shocking and traumatic experience--and we had to leave. I lost over *because it was "against policy" for any sort of refund, even under emergency circumstances. I know we are in a recession, but I'm shocked with the lack of compassion and the power of the dollar. We basically used the bathroom for a small fee of *. I badly needed internet access to find a rental car to get us off the cape and the clerk told me to walk 4 blocks to a cafe as she was surfing on the laptop in front of me. Never even slept in the room. No care whatsoever.

Located in the middle of Commercial Street, our choice each day is West End or East End for shopping. It's back off the street so it can provide the quiet needed during the day. At night the bar (Vixen) and nightclub (Madeira Room) are open so it can be noisy but once they close, you are all set. Madeira Room offers splendid entertainment! Second floor rooms are great for short stays since they are more susceptible to the club, however, third floor rooms are excellent for longer stays (we always stay for 2 weeks) since only a small amount of music filters through. All rooms are air conditioned and third floor provides a refrigerator. We have seen the Pilgrim House go through some ownership changes over the years. Current owners have put a lot of time and effort into redoing the rooms and they came out great! All the staff is friendly and willing to help with whatever needs arise. We can?t imagine staying anywhere else!

My girlfriend and I spent a week here and loved it. Provincetown is full of fun activities: great shows, whale watching, shopping, dining, beaching, bar-hoppping and people watching. This hotel is in the heart of town but sits back a bit. Yes, there is noise from the nightclub music from about 10-1 each night, but go join the fun or turn up the volume on your tv. The value is great... a nice, clean, modern room with ac and a big bathroom for a VERY resonable price by Provincetown standards. I will stay here again! The new owners are painting, planning and expanding...may add a restaraunt. We saw Paula Poundstone's act here and many other great shows are coming. This place is a gem. Once you check in, you can walk to almost everthing. (Catch the bus to the beach.) If you love P-Town, you will also love this little hotel!!!

This place was so unclean that we left early even though we were told we could not get a refund for the days we would not be staying, per their policy. There were hairs in the bed and stains on the comforter, the room smelled dirty, you could hear every word being said by the people in the rooms on either side of ours, the club was so noisy downstairs that it was impossible to sleep, and the carpet and chair both made us itchy every time our skin touched them.
You literally could not pay me to stay there. -

this place was great,, great staff,, clean rooms,, in the heart of ptown,, what more do u need,, was located above vixins night club,, at the front desk u could get ticket for the shows,, u will want for nothing staying here,, parking was good,, did not have to worry about my open jeep,, i will stay there again,, and thinking about doing just that in september,,
