Very nice property but a few things bugged me enough not to return. They seemed to nickel and dime you at every step. They charge $12 daily for parking and jacked up the room rate for the weekend. The room and bathroom were very nicely done but the bathroom lighting was very dim. The shower/tub was beautiful but dangerous to get into. The staff were great and the food in the restaurant was great. The bar had a great atmosphere when busy. We had to get our ice from the front desk as there was no ice machine. Over all the property was excellent as was the staff but enough things vexed me to cause me to stay elsewhere next time. Looked to be a good place for a reception or business retreat.

The hotel is beautiful and our room was elegant, but upon looking closer we found hair from a prior occupant covering the drain, maintenance had to come fix the shower head that the water only dribbled out of, the ice machine was out of order our first day there, and we had several discrepancies on our bill. My husband and I each had a session at the spa, but the steam room was not working in the womens section of the facility. The staff was quick to address all the problems and very helpful in pointing out places of interest and maps showing how to get to each of them. I can understand one or two things going wrong, but for the price paid one should be able to expect perfection. We did order room service twice and it was always prompt and the food was wonderful.

Rooms well appointed with interesting decor. Only negative is the bath/shower was hard to get in and out of in our room. Restaurant is fantastic. Lovely space and interesting and tasty food. The pool is small and indoors. Didn't have a chance to try out spa. Walking distance to downtown Taos but you feel like you are in a more secluded location once in the resort.

Although we were only able to spend one night in the Handsome Lake suite, we wished we could have stayed longer. In fact, we were quite reluctant to venture out to see the sights of Taos due to the inviting atmosphere of the Monte Sagrado. Right outside of our suite was a beautiful waterfall that could be seen from our private patio. The beds were comfortable, extra pillows and towels were brought within minutes of requesting them. The only negative was the seemingly unnecessary $12 for parking.

This place was such a wonderful suprise. We arived on Christmas day and stayed for two nights. You will not be dissapointed in this hotel/spa. Although the spa services were pricey, which we didn't indulge in because of that. I am excited to stay here again in the future. What great facilities. Stay al El Monte Sagrado....you will love it.
