  The information concerning the condition of the hotel does not mention that it is actually under some very noisy and smelly construction and the restaurant is closed. The part of town the hotel is in is also kind of creepy. The lock at the the top of the door was missing the top screw. The high speed internet connection promised is only available for those with a wireless set up, not for those of us who still have to use a cord to hook up to the high speed. This meant that the research I needed to do for my class that night simply did not get done. Also, and this was the final insult, upon waking the next morning to go shower, I found two roaches crawling along the walls of the bathroom!!! I made a quick exit, and went to the "clean" hotel room of another student at a different hotel to shower instead. It was quite an unpleasant experience that I would not wish on another traveler. One of those cases where one asks..."What next?

  Howard Johnson was ideally located for our visit for a family funeral. The welcoming staff were quite friendly and provided practically instantaneous assistance for electrical connection for my sleep machine. They advised us when I registered that their restaurant operator had left abruptly one recent Sunday evening, but were quick to provide several alternatives for our evening meal, along with clear driving instructions to the location of our choice. This was our first visit to Howard Johnson in Ft. Smith. It is recommended without hesitation for visitors to the area.

  Bathroom looked like a prison cell, there were brown stains on the tile. The room has one double bed and a small desk with not one single chair. The hotel was also having a concert and the noise was just terrible
