I had two rooms at this hotel. My room had a very nice view overlooking a stream with a deck. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The room didn?t quite live up to the pictures on the internet, but overall we were pleased with our room. We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception that afternoon and then had friends arrive to stay in the second room. Having read some reviews by dissatisfied guests, we immediately checked the cleanliness of the room. The sheets obviously had not been changed. They were stained and contained strands of hair. The bathroom sink and tub also had hair. We notified the man working the front desk about the condition of the room and he apologized, but didn?t really offer to do anything about it. After we requested the room be cleaned, he called a manger working at a sister property. We could overhear the conversation and he continued to tell her they needed to change the sheets, but it wasn?t bad enough he would have complained. After a wait, the manger did finally arrive and changed the sheets. There wasn?t really anything done about the bathroom, besides washing the hair down the drain. The manager was rude and never offered an apology about the room. The management and maid service at this hotel definitely need to do a better job! We got a rate of about $ a night and stayed two nights, but the going rate on their website was almost $ for that time. The rooms are not worth more than $ and stay at our own risk! Blowing Rock is a wonderful town, but there are better places to stay.

My husband and I toured the Blue Ridge Parkway this fall with a planned stopped at Blowing Rock. We did not have reservations, but we had a discount coupon from Room Saver for The Village Inn. I googled The Village Inn website the night before. The Inn photos looked nice. We were pleased with the overall appearance of the room. We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception, had a glass of wine on our balcony, enjoyed the small lake and fountain in front of the Inn. We had dinner at a nearby restaurant one of the staff recommended then came back to our room and fired up our computer on the wireless internet. All was well until I turned down the bed and discovered the sheets had not been changed. The Inn does not provide staffing after 10PM but had emergency numbers to call. I called several times and the calls went straight to voice mail. After waiting for more than an hour for staff to call, we took off our pajamas, packed our bags and checked into a nearby hotel. It could be a lovely spot to stay a day or two but management has to make sure the room not only look clean, but are clean. I had to rate the bed comfort and value for the money before I could leave this review. I honestly don't know if the bed was comfortable because I did not sleep on it, and value for the money rating does not apply because they refunded our money. Maid service and management should know better. Hope this helps you make your decision about this place. Stay at your own risk.

We absolutely loved the decor and the atmosphere of this very cozy inn. It definately had the feel of a log cabin. All of the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the wine and cheese reception each afternoon. We also enjoyed having use of the computer with internet access in the lobby. The continental breakfast was somewhat lacking but overall it was a perfect place to stay.
