Booked this motel for 3 nights in July 09. The location is directly across from campus which is why I selected it in the first place. It is the ONLY good part of the facility. My family and I checked in after midnight for a student orientation session. I noticed very few other cars in the parking lot which I thought was odd since many families would be in town for the orientation. We were assigned a room on the backside of the motel and I noticed no other cars at all on that side. The further we drove, the more rundown the motel looked. The room looked clean enough but old and smelled musty. It was an odd arrangement for a motel room. However, the room was invaded by Palmetto bugs which look like giant roaches. I know these bugs are common in the south, but I have never had trouble with them being in my hotel rooms at any other lodging. My husband and son said they were too tired to move, but I knew I would not sleep at all. I left and found another motel which was further away but much nicer and less expensive. My husband and son checked out the next morning and joined me at the nicer motel. I will NEVER stay at this motel again.

Made the reservations 2 months ahead of time. I was there with my 83 year old father who is a Tuskegee Airman and this was the closest hotel we could get for the weekend. Checked in and the room was on the second floor and you had to go up the narrowest and saddest looking stairs. You couldn't even walk up them holding your luggage. Then to get to a room next to a abandon and burnt out section of the hotel with animals running in and out of it. The rooms smelled like someone died in them. The oldest air conditioner I have ever scene (might be were the animal smell was coming from). Unfinished, no existant closet. No iron or ironing board. Room with a kitchenette, and I use that word losely. The ""stove"" was burnt out, the kitchen sink was rusted or something and I dare not look into those cabinets. Bathroom had no sink and there was no sink or mirror to be found in the room. The bathroom tub had a HUGE piece of paint that peeled away. the towel rack had fallen or was ripped off the wall and was still laying behind the tiolet. No radio. We demand a change in rooms. It got slightly better. Still no clock/radio. Remote didn't work and we received a replacement with no back cover and a offer of tape to hold the batteries in. ""Room service"" never change the towles and in some cases took towels and washcloths and failed to replace them? We were there four nights and by Sunday apparently room service just gave up. No one ever came to make up the beds or anything. DO NOT STAY HERE AND online travel website SHOULD TAKE THEM OFF AS A OPTION.

The Days Inn Auburn, AL was dirty and run down. When we checked in, our king suite was not ready or available, so we agreed to another room. When we walked in, the ceiling had stains from leaks, the carpet had huge black stains all over it and their wasn't even any trim around floors. The room smelled terrible ! We walked out and had to scramble to find another hotel! X would be wise to remove this hotel from their list of recommended places to stay!

This is another one of those Days Inn owners on the east coast that doesn't keep their properties updated. Carpet needs replaced, heating/cooling needs replaced. Very aged units that need to be stripped back to the studs and redone. Microwave on the floor. $300 + per night during high season (football). Breakfast was very basic and unappetizing. Certainly prime property, right across the street from campus, stadium in sight. But what a rip off for the guest. Students use the parking lot during the school week - guess the spots are leased to them.

I was afraid to take off my shoes while walking around the room. There was paint peeling in the bathroom and bathtub!! The wallpaper was coming off the wall and the coffee pot had not been washed out. On top of that, the hotel charged more than the original quote.
