Very dirty, poorly lit, and hard to find. Desk clerk made us pay for the room BEFORE we got a keycard. Yes, he actually processed the transaction and made me sign a CC slip for the room amount - not just normal check in processing. Rooms were also dark and dirty. We reserved a non-smoking room, but were placed into 3 different smoking rooms before we got one that was tolerable - still had smoke smell though called non-smoking. Wife and kids were afraid to touch things and slept on top of jackets with all clothes on on top of beds. Woke up in the morning to find County Sheriffs Deputies and Police - thankfully in another wing of the hotel. Front desk clerk refused to tell us what was going on - got info from the Police, and got out of there as quickly as possible. Worst hotel ever. We would NEVER stay here again.

one light in parking lot; no lights on motel identifying it--took one half hour to find, down a road which was next to a truckstop--looked like a wearhouse area; almost no lights in lobby; attendant had visible, glowing electric heater on to keep warm; open jar of peanut butter to share in breakfast room; temperature in breakfast room was 52 degrees on thermostat; outside door to our wing could not be locked; hallways in motel were c. 55 degrees; BUT MOST IMPORTANT: AT 7:30 A.M. A KEY CARD WAS USED TO OPEN THE DOOR TO OUR ROOM; THERE HAD BEEN NO KNOCK OR ANNOUNCEMENT BEFORE THE DOOR OPENING; OUR TWO SMALL DOGS, FOR EACH OF WHOM WE HAD PAID A HOUSING FEE, SCARED THE INTRUDER AWAY; BOTH MY WIFE AND I WERE GETTING DRESSED AT THE TIME OF THE OPENING OF THE DOOR; WHEN I COMPLAINED TO THE MORNING DESK ATTENDANT, SHE SAID THAT A MAN HAD REPORTED THAT HE WAS CHECKING OUT OF OUR ROOM, NO. 117, AND THAT PROBABLY A MOTEL EMPLOYEE HAD ENTERED TO TURN THE HEAT OFF IN THE ROOM BECAUSE THE ROOM WAS VACANT. This experience is enough to never stay in an Econolodge property again. This motel is a riddle--it is a huge, well constructed glass and brick building with a domed pool area that looks super. The property is certainly run down, however, and the penny pinching that is going on with some of the above complaints shows that. -

THIS IS THE WORST PLACE THAT I HAVE EVER BEEN. I BOOKED THIS A WEEK IN ADVANCE AND DROVE 4HRS. TO GET THERE JUST TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THAT THERE WAS NO ROOMS LEFT. I EVEN HAD MY CONFORMATION. THEY NEVER CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW AND DIDN'T EVEN TRY AND HELP ME GET ANOTHER PLACE TO STAY. I AM DISABLED AND HAD TO DRIVE ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF TO GET A PLACE TO STAY FOR THE NIGHT. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN AND I AM TURNING THEM INTO THE BBB. I HAVE CALLED THEM 5 TIMES TO TRY AND REMEDY THIS AND NO ONE EVER CALLED ME BACK .....WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE THESE !!!!!!
