I stayed at the Marriott almost a week. Lovely hotel on a lovely beach. Yalong Bay is easily the nicest beach in China. As with every hotel in China, especially Sanya, English is limited, but usually good enough. Overall, staff is quite friendly. I liked the bright colors of the room, unlike Hilton next door. Marriott definitely has the best gardens compared to its neighbors. The front garden is especially nice for a walk or jog. I highly recommend this resort and this destination to all.

Sanya was lovely, have to admit I was highly dubious about the China of Haiwaii, however as soon as we landed the island was lovely. We took a taxi to the Marriott which took around 45 minutes, 120 RMB. Check in was relatively smooth, we were given some cute shell necklaces as soon as we arrived. Staff speak english although it's a bit limited, not 100% but you can communicate mostly. The rooms were a good size, we had the mountain view which was lovely, balcony which was nice and good to sit out to catch the breeze. Bathrooms very clean and big with a good shower and seperate bath. I highly reccomend the Vietnamese Restaurant in the hotel and suggest going nextdoor to the Sheraton for drinks at night as they have a great singer and much better atmosphere over there. The pools were good, bit chilly however there is a whirlpool which'll warm you up. Gym and spa also very good-note the massages in the fitness centre are half the price of the spa at 300RMB and we had full bosy massages twice and they were very good. We hired a driver for 8 hours who took us out in a van and endlessly sold tourist destinations to us, my advice plan a route and stick to it, don't take suggestions as they take commission.
