My wife and I stayed here recently and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is beautiful and is on the National Historic Register. It has been completely remodeled and has all new wiring and plumbing. The rooms have really nice furniture and the mattresses are the same ones that the Westin calls their ""heavenly bed"". The bar is open every evening and has over 100 liquors plus a big wine selection and amazing margaritas. There is a restaurant and ballroom too. The basement has computers hooked to the internet free to use plus vending machines and ice machine. There is an outdoor deck on the 2nd floor with a free bbq grill. The whole buiding has wireless high speed internet that works good. Overall we were pleasantly surprised every time we turned around, including free microwave popcorn and bottled water in our rooms! This is great for a business traveler or a romantic getaway. The hotel is also walking distance from the new movie theater, downtown shopping, and dozens of downtown bars and restaurants.

08/07/2007Old is wonderful. dirty is unacceptable. this hotel could be wonderful if only it was clean and had adequate air conditioning.
