  We had requested a non smoking room 3 months in advance. When we arrived we were told they had no non smoking rooms available. We would have to TAKE a smoking room that they had treated the air in, so we would not know it was a smoking room. As soon as we got off the elevator the air was very heavy with smoke. We had reservations for 2 rooms, after a long and not nice conversation with the desk clerk, he came up with one room for 4 of us for the first night, and would have a second room the following day. This desk clerk was rude beyond words, asking if we had ever stayed in a hotel that size before. He also told us our problem was in using the travel website, that they put customer's who use their website for rooms into the better rooms first. The rest of the staff were nice, the breakfast was good, but it sure put a sour taste in our mouth about this chain of motel/hotel. The hotel is also hard to find from RT 263, as it is hid in back of a Ramada Inn.

  This was my first time staying at an americinn and let me say it will not be the last. very good hotel, wish they had more.
