  I travel to Chico a lot and have stayed at almost everyplace listed. From the Hotel Diamond to the Vagabond. Don't get me wrong. This is not a luxury place -- but for $ dollars - it is a great value. Room was small - but about the same size as at the Holiday Inn. However, but the closet was big and the shower was surprisingly nice - large and tiled. Location is ok - town is a short walk away. The owner's are friendly and helpful. Bottom line - not the best place in town, but with proper expectations - definatily one of the best values.

  We have stayed at the Budget Inn Of Chico several times, our son is a student at nearby CSU Chico which is in one mile distance to the Budget Inn Of Chico. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the location can't be beat, besides being close to the University it is in one mile distance to all the restaurants and shops downtown Chico has to offer. Our last 3 stays have been in the deluxe room, it is huge and well kept and at a very affordable rate. The a/c works great which is important in the extreme heat of the Central Valley. We would recommend the Budget Inn Of Chico to anyone traveling to our through Chico

  My husband and I were looking for a quick, well priced romantic get-a-way......not what we got. The room was clean but not well maintained at all.Clerk was rude! We will not go back.....yeah it's $** a night but so not worth it!!! I recommend you going ANYWHERE ELSE.

  Perfect for someone who doesn't want to spend much. The bed was a bit too firm for me but overall it was fine for the price. The room had a weird smell at first, but then my girlfriend reminded me ""it's a hotel room, what do you expect?"" And she was right.

  Unfortunately, this hotel seems to think that low budget means dirty. The hotel owners are nice people but this is the dirtiest place I have ever seen. It hasn't been properly cleaned ever. I don't think inexpensive/budget should mean filthy dirty accomodations. I checked out a day early and stayed elsewhere.
