While visiting the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, a friend and I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Fishers. We chose the hotel for its proximity to the Fair Train operated by the Indiana Transportation Museum; however, at around $100 a night including breakfast, the price was spot-on. The location -- right by the I-69 off-ramp -- wasn't perfect, but it was convenient, and good soundproofing made for a quiet room. Front desk staff was professional, courteous, and helpful. They were happy to recommend restaurants and gave us great directions. When my travel companion visited the hotel shop to purchase a replacement for his forgotten Scope, the young lady working there gave him a complimentary travel-sized bottle. She and her co-workers really did seem to believe that providing great service meant more than bringing in a few extra dollars. The room was tastefully appointed, clean, and very comfortable. At the end of our stay, I wanted to take my bed home with me. We didn't try the indoor pool or whirlpool, but other guests seemed to enjoy them. Breakfast comprised two tempting hot dishes and an array of fruits, cold cereals, yoghurts, pastries, muffins, bagels, and doughnuts. I didn't try the coffee, but was pleased with the selection of teas. My friend enjoyed the unlimited orange juice. I gorged myself on fresh, delicious fruit salad. Hampton Inn in Fishers is a great value and compares favorably with much more expensive hotels -- the appointments may be a bit less luxurious, but the service is superb. You can spend less on a room, but you won't receive the same attentive service. I rarely grant five-star ratings, but Hampton Inn in Fishers deserves nothing less. In short, we had a great stay, and will definitely return.
